ISRO revealed on Friday that the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter has successfully detected the Chandrayaan-3 lander on the lunar surface. The orbiter's high-resolution camera captured these images and subsequently shared them on social media. Despite the crash-landing of the Chandrayaan-2 lander in 2019, its orbiter has consistently gathered vital data over the past four years.

After the triumphant soft landing of the 'Vikram' lander during the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter promptly directed its high-resolution camera towards the moon's surface.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) unveiled this significant development on X, confirming, that 'Chandrayaan-2's Orbiter High-Resolution Camera (OHRC), with the highest resolution around the moon, has spotted the Chandrayaan-3 Lander after its landing on 23/2³/23.'

India's accomplishment on Wednesday marked a momentous milestone, as the Vikram lander, transporting the Pragyan rover, achieved a successful touchdown on the lunar surface.

This achievement positioned India as the fourth country to achieve a soft landing on the moon and the pioneer to reach the unexplored South Pole.

ISRO provided updates on the mission's progress, affirming that all systems are functioning as expected. The Lander Module payloads, including ILSA, RAMBHA, and ChaSTE, were activated, and the rover's mobility operations have commenced. S Somanath, the chairman of ISRO, highlighted the rover's seamless movement, underscoring its 'exceptional performance'.
