Sanjoy Roy, a civic volunteer who was arrested on August 10, is expected to plead ‘not guilty’ in court, according to his lawyer, Kavita Sarkar. Roy’s arrest came after the body of a PG trainee doctor was discovered in a seminar hall at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Polygraph Test Details

Roy recently underwent a polygraph test, also known as a lie-detector test, conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). During the test, Roy reportedly challenged the CBI’s questions regarding the alleged murder of the doctor, labeling them as ‘invalid’. He consistently claimed his innocence throughout the procedure.

Roy’s Statements and Claims

According to reports, Sanjoy Roy was asked 10 questions by the CBI during the polygraph test. These questions included inquiries about his academic background and his involvement in the doctor’s case. When questioned about what he did after allegedly murdering the doctor, Roy interrupted, insisting he had not committed the crime. He stated that he found the doctor unconscious and covered in blood and that he panicked and left the seminar hall upon discovering the scene.
