CM Bhupendra Patel boards in Bullet Train during Japan Summit; Watch Video
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, currently on a Japan tour preceding the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, explored the potential of the green hydrogen energy sector during his visit to Yamanashi Hydrogen Company. The tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled from January 10 to January 12, 2024.

CM Bhupendra Patel toured the plant, delving into its demand, sales, and servicing capabilities, with the presence of the Governor of Yamanashi. Yamanashi Hydrogen Company expressed eagerness to participate in the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit, as per a Gujarat government release.
During the visit, CM Bhupendra Patel outlined India's initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, emphasizing the commitment to net zero carbon emissions. This commitment was showcased at the COP26 summit in Glasgow, where PM Modi pledged a comprehensive "Panchamrit" plan, including targets like reaching 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, generating half of energy from renewables, and reducing emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030, with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

India's National Green Hydrogen Mission, approved in January, aligns with global efforts for decarbonization, reducing dependence on imported fossil fuels across various sectors. CM Bhupendra Patel highlighted Gujarat's leadership in the green energy space, aiming for a 100 GW renewable energy portfolio.
CM Bhupendra Patel extended an invitation to Governor Yamanashi to attend the Vibrant Summit 2024, fostering new investments and strengthening Japan-Gujarat relations, especially in renewable energy and the green hydrogen sector.
Upon arrival in Japan, CM Bhupendra Patel received a warm welcome at the Tokyo airport from the Indian Ambassador in Japan, Sibi George.
