Congress Is An ideology: On the occasion of the 140th Foundation Day of the Congress, party president Mallikarjun Kharge strongly attacked the BJP and the Modi government. At the event held in Delhi, Kharge said that those who say that the Congress is finished should understand that the Congress may have less power, but its spine is still straight. Kharge further stated that the Congress party has never bargained for power, nor has it compromised on the Constitution, secularism, or the rights of the poor.

'Power may be less, but the spine is straight

Kharge said, "To those who say that the Congress is finished, I want to tell them that we may have less power, but our spine is still straight. We may not be in power, but we will not compromise. The Congress has never sought votes in the name of religion, nor has it spread hatred in the name of temples and mosques."

Taking a dig at the BJP, he said that the Congress works to unite, while the BJP practices divisive politics. The Congress has always kept religion confined to faith, but some people have made religion a weapon of politics. Kharge alleged that today the BJP has power, but not the truth. That is why sometimes figures are hidden, sometimes the census is stopped, and sometimes there is talk of changing the Constitution.

He alleged that national assets, as well as water, forests, and land, are also in danger. Kharge said that many leaders of the RSS and BJP have not even accepted the country's Constitution, the tricolor flag, the Ashoka Chakra, and Vande Mataram. He said that RSS-BJP leaders have always opposed the laws made for the progress of society and are working to crush the rights of the people. Kharge also alleged that these people have had no connection with the freedom movement and today they are engaged in snatching away the rights of the people.

Referring to the tenure of the UPA government, Kharge said that during Sonia Gandhi's time as Congress president and Dr. Manmohan Singh's During his tenure as Prime Minister, several historic laws were enacted to strengthen the rights of the people. These include the Right to Information Act (RTI), the Right to Education Act (RTE), the Food Security Act, MNREGA, the Forest Rights Act, and the Land Acquisition Act.

The Congress fought for the country's independence and worked to take the nation forward. Today, when those in power are promoting hatred, injustice, and oppression in the country, the Congress is still fighting against it with full strength."
