Country witnesses 2 deaths due to H3N2 influenza, Each from Karnataka and Haryana
<p>Two individuals have died of influenza caused by the H3N2 Influenza, Government made it clear, Each one from Karnataka and Haryana. Talking about the 1st patient who lost his life due to influenza, an 82-year-old man in Karnataka’s Hassan is believed to be the first to die of influenza in the country. Hire Gowda(Patient) was admitted to the hospital on 24th February and died on March 1, according to the medical reports patient was reportedly a diabetic and suffered from hypertension.Talking about the virus, around 90 fresh cases have been till date detected across the country, other than that 8 cases of the H1N1 virus has also been detected till now. The actual concern here is that no. of cases of the flu are increasing day by day, Most of the infections are caused by the H3N2 virus, also known as the “Hong Kong Flu”. Talking about the cases of the flu across the country, only H3N2 and H1N1 infections have been detected in India so far. Both have Symptoms that infected millions across the world and caused 6.8 million deaths. After two years of the pandemic, the rising flu cases have triggered concern among people.
Symptoms:
According to the experts, the flu has similar symptoms like Corona Virus, which includes include persistent cough, fever, chills, breathlessness, and wheezing. Patients have also reported nausea, sore throat, body ache, and diarrhea.
Doctors have now advised Covid-like precautions, including regular washing of hands and masks. The Indian Council of Medical Research urges covering one’s mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing, plenty of fluids, avoiding touching the eyes and the nose, and paracetamol for fever and body ache.
