Dawood Ibrahim neither poisoned nor dead: Sources
Intelligence sources have refuted the rumors circulating about fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, emphasizing that he is neither poisoned nor dead, according to information shared with India Today on Monday.

Speculation regarding Ibrahim's alleged poisoning and hospitalization gained traction following a late-night video by a Pakistani YouTuber, who relied on unverified social media reports. In the video, the YouTuber connected these rumors to an abrupt internet shutdown in Pakistan. However, credible sources have dismissed these claims, attributing the connectivity disruptions to a virtual meeting of the opposition Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
During the incident, Netblocks, a global internet freedom watchdog, recorded significant restrictions on major social media platforms in Pakistan lasting approximately seven hours on Sunday evening. This period coincided with an online political gathering of the opposition party.
Netblocks provided commentary on the situation, stating, "The incident is consistent with previous instances of internet censorship targeting opposition leader Imran Khan and his party."
Furthermore, reports from Pakistani media indicate that internet services on Sunday experienced disruptions across various regions of Pakistan. Users encountered difficulties accessing platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly known as Twitter).
The disruptions have persisted since 7 pm on Sunday, with Karachi, Mir Pur Khas, Lahore, and Rawalpindi identified as the cities most severely affected, according to Geo News.
Dawood Ibrahim, recognized as the mastermind behind the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts that claimed over 250 lives and injured thousands, attained the status of a "global terrorist" as designated by the Indian and US governments back in 2003.
He continues to be featured on India's 'Most Wanted List.' Despite consistent assertions by Indian authorities that Ibrahim is residing in Pakistan's Clifton area, Pakistani officials have steadfastly refuted any acknowledgment of his presence within the country.
