DeepFake: Technology is advancing day by day. Then the word deepfake has been in discussion a lot recently. With the help of which any face can be changed and presented from a different angle. However, now the government seems to be in action mode in this matter. According to the reports, the central government will make rules in 10 days in the deepfake case. Union Minister of Electronics, Information Technology and Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw held a high-level meeting on this issue today. After this meeting, he has indicated that the government can make a new rule or law in the matter of deepfake videos.

Deep fakes are harmful for society: Ashwini Vaishnaw

The central government has expressed concern about DeepFake. Meanwhile, an important meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Representatives of AI companies also participated in this meeting. After the meeting, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the government will soon make a law on deepfaking. The Union Minister said that DeepFake has emerged as a new threat to democratic countries. Both companies and manufacturers will be equally responsible for this. He said that four main issues were discussed in today's meeting, including how to detect deepfakes? Can such content be stopped from going viral? There is also talk of setting up a monitoring system so that platforms and authorities can be alerted to deepfakes and take action.

Government can make new rules or new laws

“We will start drafting regulation today and we will have new rules to deal with deepfakes,” Vaishnaw told reporters. It will either amend the existing framework or bring in new rules or new legislation. Vaishnaw said, “Our next meeting will be in the first week of December. The decisions taken today will be discussed further.” “What should be included in the draft regulation will also be discussed.” In deepfake, a photo or video is replaced with someone else by using artificial intelligence (AI). There are so many similarities in these that it is very difficult to differentiate between real and fake. Recently, several 'deepfake' videos targeting various Bollywood actors have surfaced on social media platforms. Many people expressed displeasure regarding this. This has also raised many questions about misuse of technology and tools to create fake content.

Deepfakes suffocate the government

You must have seen face-swapping videos in the last few days. This is a technology that has recently troubled even the government. Yes, because of this technology, any person's face can be replaced with someone else's face. The surprising thing is that if a person's face is changed with the help of a deepfake, then that person also starts scratching his head after seeing it. Because it feels absolutely real. Now sources are saying that the government is thinking of making new rules and laws to curb this type of technology.

PM Modi also expressed concern

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also expressed concern over the DeepFake issue. A few days ago, a video of PM Modi playing Garba went viral. Whereas he never played Garba. Prime Minister Modi said that this was also mentioned in the virtual meeting of G-20 held yesterday. Showing seriousness he said that this kind of thing can be dangerous. He further said that there is growing concern around the negative use of AI around the world. India has a clear stand on this matter that we should work together on its global regulation. Deepfakes are dangerous for society and the individual. PM said that India Global AI Partnership is being organized next month in which your cooperation is also expected.
