CRPF recovered 3 KG of IED bomb planted by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh
Central Reserve Police Force recovered three Kg Improvised Explosive Device(IED) planted by Naxalites from the east of Burji village which comes under the Gangular Police station area.
One of the CRPF jawans was injured in the process of diffusing the bomb. According to the police, the bomb was planted by Naxals in Bijapur, Chhatisgarh.
The 85th Battalion of CRPF, found the explosive device while they were on search.
"The 85 Battalion Corps soldier Prashant Bhuiya suffered minor injuries while neutralising the IED" said the CRPF official.
The official further said that the treatment of the injured soldier is carried out in the Pusnar camp. They also gave out the information that the soldier was stable and safe.
The investigation is underway. More information on the matter is awaited.
Naxalites continuing their act of terror
On Thursday, Naxals killed a villager named Machaki Linga in Bijapur district accusing him of being a police informer. The Naxalites strangled the 40-year-old victim with a rope and threw his body on the roadside between Galgam and Nadpalli villages.
Naxalites also warned election officials not to visit the poll-bound area to conduct voting. Chhatisgarh is due for elections. The first phase of voting will be undertaken on November 7. Bijapur is among 20 assembly constituencies that will go for polling on November 7. The remaining 70 constituencies will go for polling on November 17, during the second phase of assembly elections.
Police forces have launched the operation of tracing down Naxalites from the area.
