IAF pilot made emergency landing of helicopter in Prayagraj
In a recent incident, an Indian Army chopper found itself in a challenging situation on October 14, prompting an emergency landing in Prayagraj due to a significant technical issue.
The Chetak helicopter, with a skilled pilot at the helm, executed a precautionary landing in a field situated in the Holagarh area. The Indian Air Force (IAF) swiftly confirmed the necessity of the landing, ensuring that safety remained a top priority.
Upon touching down in the field, a large crowd gathered to witness the event, but reassuringly, the IAF pilots aboard the helicopter emerged from the situation safely. Air Force Central Zone spokesperson Sameer Gangakhedkar emphasized that both the pilot and the helicopter sustained no damage, alleviating concerns regarding the incident's outcome.
The emergency landing, attributed to technical reasons, prompted the prompt arrival of a significant police presence, securing the area surrounding the Chetak helicopter's landing site. A team from the Central Air Command has been dispatched to the scene, and the IAF's engineering unit has been called in to rectify the technical fault in the helicopter.

Local villagers reported that the helicopter spent a considerable amount of time in the sky before executing the emergency landing, highlighting the cautious approach taken by the crew to mitigate any potential risks.
In a separate incident, an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter also made an emergency landing, this time in Assam's Dhubri district and later in Barpeta. According to a defense official, the chopper, carrying a few personnel, had initially landed in Dhubri for unspecified work, and a preliminary report described the action as a precautionary landing.
The incident prompted some passengers to disembark when the helicopter made its emergency landing in a field near Chapar in Dhubri. Further details and explanations from the IAF and state government officials are awaited to shed more light on the situation.
