J&K shaken again by terrorist attack, 5 major attacks in last 10 years shook the country!

A major terrorist attack has taken place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. At least 27 people are reported to have died in the attack. Two foreign tourists have also died in the attack.

J&K: There was peace in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time. A large number of tourists were reaching the valley. But the way terrorists attacked in Pahalgam on 22 April, the entire valley was shaken. At least 27 people are reported dead in this terrorist attack. This attack was carried out on tourists. According to the report, they were first asked their names and then shot. Two foreign tourists also lost their lives in this attack. One of them is a tourist from Italy and the other is from Israel. Investigation is on to find out who is behind this cowardly attack.

This is one of the biggest terrorist incidents in Kashmir in the last 10 years.

Terrorist attacks shook the country

On the other hand, in the last decade (between 2015 and 2025) some such terrorist attacks took place in Jammu and Kashmir, which shook the country. A large number of security forces and civilians lost their lives in these attacks. These are the terrorist attacks that shook the valley of Kashmir.

Uri attack-

On 18 September 2016, there was a terrorist attack on the Indian Army camp in Uri, in which 16 soldiers were martyred. Jaish-e-Mohammed was said to be behind this attack. All the 4 terrorists involved in this attack were killed by the army soldiers. In the year 2016, it was the biggest terrorist attack in the last 20 years.

Attack on Amarnath Yatra-

On 10 July 2017, terrorists targeted the bus of Amarnath pilgrims, in which 8 pilgrims were killed, while dozens of people were injured. This attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists. Indian soldiers also killed many of the terrorists who carried out the incident in different operations.

Sunjwan attack-

Nearly 2 years after the Uri attack, on 10 February 2018, there was a terrorist attack on Sunjwan Military Station. According to Hindustan's report, 3 soldiers were martyred in this attack and a civilian also died. In response, Indian soldiers killed three terrorists.

Pulwama attack-

On 14 February 2019, a suicide attack took place on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama, in which 40 soldiers were martyred. While this attack was carried out by Pakistan-terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. It was considered one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the history of independent India.

Reasi attack-

On 9 June 2024, a bus of pilgrims returning from Shivkhodi in Reasi district was attacked. In which 9 Hindu pilgrims lost their lives. More than 41 people were also injured in the attack. This attack was carried out by terrorists hiding in the hilly areas. The driver was also injured during the attack, after which the bus fell into the ditch.

Zero tolerance policy against terrorists

Zero tolerance policy is adopted against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the reason why terrorist incidents have reduced drastically in the last few years. However, the terrorists' groups could not digest the peace in Kashmir.

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, many people including PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed condolences. Also, PM Modi has also ordered Amit Shah to deal with the terrorists.

Summary

Statistics show that from the year 2019 to 2023, there was a 77% reduction in terrorist incidents and encounters. At the same time, there was a 75% decline in the deaths of civilians. Though this information was shared by the Home Ministry to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs.
