Kenya's cabinet secretary for defence visits India
Aden Bare Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Kenya’s Ministry of Defence visited on India on Tuesday 29 August for the first time after resuming office in 2022 too boost India Kenya relations. His formal visit by a Kenyan representative is a strong sign that India wants to improve its relations with the African countries which have not receives their deserving importance in the Indian foreign policy.
The cabinate secretary is on a 3 day visit to India. He met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today morning where he revieved warm welcome from the minister.
Aden Bare Duale, received Guard of Honor from the Indian army in Delhi. He also payed tribute at National War memorial in Delhi by placing a wreath at the memorial.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh and Aden Bare Duale had a bilateral talk with their respective teams. the secretary congratulated India the successful Chandrayaan 3 mission and becoming the 4th nation to land successfully on them moon. "I want to congratulate India for the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the lunar south pole. I am happy that India has become the 4th country globally that has joined the nations that have achieved the milestone, Congratulations " the secretary said.
He is expected to visit shipyards and defence industries in goa and Bangalore.
Defence minister said that India is increasing cooperation on various fronts of economy, trade and health. Rajnath Singh also said that Indian PM Modi has written to all G20 members to include African countries in the summit as well.
If looked at from the point of strategic relations, it is important for India to increase its relations with the African countries for which the PM even visited Kenya in 2017. Our red giant neighbor China is also increasing influence in Africa and thus it is important for India as well to be make its presence felt in African nations and make these nations feel inclusive.
