Tributes Paid to Heroes: Army and Police Honor Five Fallen Soldiers in Rajouri Encounter
Rajouri Encounter: In a solemn ceremony held on Friday morning, the Army and police paid heartfelt tributes to five brave personnel who lost their lives in a recent encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The encounter, spanning 36 hours, resulted in the demise of two terrorists, including a high-ranking Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander trained in Afghanistan, along with five soldiers, including two captains, in the Bajimaal area of Darmsal.
The Army General Hospital in Rajouri witnessed a poignant wreath-laying ceremony organized by the army, led by the General Officer Commanding Romeo Force. In attendance were other officers and police officials, collectively expressing their condolences and paying respects to the martyred army men.

Martyrs of Rajouri Encounter
The fallen soldiers, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the fight against terrorism, were identified as Captain M V Pranjal (63 RR) from Mangalore, Karnataka; Captain Shubham Gupta (9 Para) from Agra, Uttar Pradesh; Havaldar Abdul Majid (Para) from Ajote in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir; Lance Naik Sanjay Bist from Halli Padli, Nainital, Uttarakhand; and Paratrooper Sachin Laur from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Families left behind in grief
Captain Pranjal is survived by his wife Aditi G, while Captain Gupta leaves behind his father Basant Kumar Gupta. Havaldar Majid is survived by his wife Sagera Bi and three children, while Lance Naik Bisht and Paratrooper Laur leave behind their mothers Manju Devi and Bhagvati Devi, respectively.
The mortal remains of the martyred army personnel are being sent to their respective native places for the final rites, marking a somber moment as the nation mourns the loss of these valiant soldiers.
