Two Indian Air Force pilots killed in plane crash in Hyderabad
On Monday, December 4, the Indian Air Force confirmed the deaths of two pilots who lost their lives in a plane crash.
According to reports, the crashed plane was a Pilatus trainer aircraft.
As of now, the cause of the aircraft crash is still unknown.
The Air Force confirmed that the crash took the lives of one instructor, and one cadet was heavily injured and subsequently lost their life. Their aircraft, Pilatus PC 7 Mk II, met with an accident in the morning.
The force also confirmed that, apart from the tragic loss of the pilots' lives, no civilian lives or property were harmed in the accident.
The force has further stated that it has launched an investigation into the matter to find out the real reason behind the plane crash.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief on the tragic loss. He took to X to say “Anguished by this accident near Hyderabad. It is deeply saddening that two pilots have lost their lives. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families.”
The Indian Air Force (IAF) will launch a court of inquiry into the crash. The pilots were on a routine training sortie from the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.
