The accident occurred on the morning of December 14, when the woman was out for her morning walk. A young man driving recklessly near the Sai Temple hit her. The woman was seriously injured in the accident. Before the people around could understand what had happened, the accused fled the scene. The accused has now been arrested by the police from Rajasthan.

Husband files complaint

Pawan Kumar Gupta, a resident of Rajpur, had filed a complaint with the police in this matter. He stated that his wife had gone for her morning walk as usual. During that time, an unknown car driver hit her while driving at high speed and recklessly. After the accident, the accused fled with the car. The woman was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police registered case under these sections

Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Rajpur police station. The police registered the case under sections of the Indian Penal Code related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligent and dangerous driving. A serious investigation into the entire matter was then launched. The police prioritized identifying the accused and intensified efforts for his arrest.

CCTV footage provided crucial clue

During the investigation, the police team examined the CCTV camera footage from the accident site and surrounding areas. The car involved in the accident was identified from these cameras. The police gathered complete information about the vehicle through its registration number. This made it clear which car was involved in the accident.

Car recovered on December 18

The police recovered the car used in the accident on December 18. The investigation revealed that a person named Anmol Yadav was driving the car at the time of the accident. Following this, the police intensified their search for the accused. However, by then the accused had already fled from Dehradun.

Accused's mobile phone switched off

Fearing arrest, the accused Anmol Yadav had also switched off his mobile phone. This made it difficult for the police to trace his location. Despite this, the police relied on technical evidence and human intelligence. Every possible movement of the accused was being monitored.

How the police achieved success

According to PTI, the police finally activated their informer network. Through this network, crucial information was received that the accused was hiding in Rajasthan. Upon receiving the information, the police team planned their action. After continuous surveillance, the exact location of the accused was ascertained.

Accused arrested from Jaipur

On Sunday, the police arrested the accused Anmol Yadav (22) from Jaipur, Rajasthan. According to the police, the accused was apprehended after a week. He will now be brought to Dehradun for further legal proceedings.
