Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced that on the occasion of Diwali, the last metro train services will start at 10:00 pm from their terminal stations on all lines. On Sunday, the metro services will end one hour early.

The schedule change may have an impact on Delhi Metro users who travel late at night. According to DMRC's announcement, train services on the Delhi Metro will start on Sunday at 6:00 am on all lines and at 4:45 am on the Airport Express Line. The last scheduled metro train service will be at 10:00 p.m. on Diwali.

Due to the Diwali festival, all Metro train terminal stations, including the Airport Express Line, will have their last train service on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 10:00 PM. This Sunday (Diwali), metro train services will start at 6:00 AM on ALL LINES/SECTIONS and at 4:45 AM on the Airport Express Line, according to a notice released by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, the pink line metro service from Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar was delayed, which caused inconvenience for commuters—Metro train services on other lines carried on normal operations as usual.

The Delhi Metro Corporation has started 20 additional train trips for the convenience of daily commuters in response to the growing air pollution in the national capital region.

The goal of the initiative is to persuade people in Delhi and the surrounding cities of Noida, Ghaziabad, and others to use public transportation instead of their own vehicles.
