Delhi Police registered case under UAPA for Parliamentary security breach on Dec 13
In a startling breach of parliamentary security reminiscent of the 2001 terror attack, the Delhi Police has initiated legal proceedings under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The incident unfolded during Zero Hour on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack when Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D leaped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery. The duo released yellow gas from canisters and shouted slogans before being subdued by fellow MPs.
Simultaneously, outside the Parliament premises, two other individuals, identified as Amol Shinde and Neelam Devi, unleashed colored gas from canisters while proclaiming "tanashahi nahi chalegi" (autocracy will not prevail). Investigations reveal that the four culprits were part of a larger group of six individuals who meticulously planned the breach.
The Delhi Police has filed a case under pertinent sections of the UAPA and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) concerning the breach. The swift response by security forces prevented further escalation, but the incident has raised concerns about the vulnerability of parliamentary security. Authorities are now intensifying efforts to bolster security measures in the wake of this audacious breach.
