Dhordo Tableau- Gujarat's rich cultural and tourism heritage took center stage once again as the state's tableau secured top honors in the 75th Republic Day Parade for the second consecutive year.

The tableau, showcasing the iconic 'Bhunga,' Ranotsav, Tent City, and various handicrafts of Kutch, along with a demonstration of the digital revolution in rural sectors, was recognized with the prestigious "People's Choice Award" for the second year in a row. The online voting conducted on the 'MyGov Platform' saw Gujarat's tableau clinching the top spot with an impressive 32 percent vote share, making it the first choice among citizens nationwide.

Adding to the celebration, Gujarat's Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, expressed his gratitude to the people for this honor and acknowledged it as a remarkable achievement in the realm of tourism and cultural heritage. The tableau also received the second position in the Jury Members' Choice category, marking a double triumph for Gujarat.

Symbolising Cultural Heritage

The tableau's success is attributed to the state's dedication to promoting its cultural legacy and tourism initiatives. The tableau featured the renowned Bhatigal Garba, recently recognized by UNESCO as 'Intangible Cultural Heritage,' performed to music composed by Kutchi singer Ms. Diwalibehan Ahir. This captivating performance, coupled with the tableau's vibrant representation, made it a highlight of the Republic Day Parade.

Dhordo- A Catalyst for Progress

Gujarat's tourism journey, epitomized by the RannUtsav, Dhordo in Kutch, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister, has been a catalyst for social, economic, and environmental progress in rural Kutch. This recognition culminated in the United Nations World Tourism Organization honoring Gujarat with the 'World Best Tourism Village' award in 2023.

Minister of State for Defense and Tourism, Shri Ajay Bhatt, felicitated Gujarat in New Delhi for its outstanding contribution to tourism and cultural heritage. The tableau's success reflects the state's commitment to showcasing its cultural richness on the national stage, earning accolades from both the people and the jury.

As the curtain falls on the 75th Republic Day Parade, Gujarat's tableau stands tall as a symbol of the state's vibrant cultural tapestry, securing its place as a frontrunner in the nation's cultural and tourism narrative for the second consecutive year.
