He tweeted that PM Modi wrapped up his trip to Indonesia by developing deeper ties with ASEAN and EAS allies in a post on X.

Kumar outlined the main lessons learned from PM Modi's visit to Jakarta in a quick video message that MEA spokeswoman Arindam Bagchi uploaded on X.

Importance of amplifying the voice of the Global South

PM Modi stressed the importance of amplifying the voice of the Global South, especially at the G20, according to Kumar.

He mentioned that the leaders of ASEAN wished PM Modi well and welcomed his chairmanship of the G20. They also praised India for the accomplishments of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

Twelve-point proposal

According to Kumar, PM Modi had in-depth conversations about a variety of topics, including connectivity, maritime cooperation, digital transformation, trade and the economy, the environment, health, and traditional medicine.

In each of these areas, the prime minister offered specific recommendations, which have been compiled into a twelve-point proposal.

According to Kumar, two joint statements were released by India and ASEAN. These assertions deal with food security and marine cooperation. Areas including maritime safety and security, maritime domain awareness, disaster management, blue economy, and more have been addressed through maritime cooperation.

ASEAN India Fund for Digital Future

The creation of the ASEAN India Fund for Digital Future, intended to improve financial connection between ASEAN and India, was another announcement made by PM Modi. The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), an ASEAN think institution that will collaborate with India to strengthen ASEAN-ASEAN relations, also received his backing.

Kumar emphasised the significance of ASEAN centrality while highlighting PM Modi's appeal for a free, open, and rules-based Indo-Pacific.

PM Modi Expressed his gratitude

After taking part in the ASEAN-India Summit , PM Modi thanked the people of Indonesia and Indonesian President Joko Widodo. On X, he wrote, I had a brief but productive visit to Indonesia, where I met ASEAN and other leaders. I appreciate the warm greeting from President @jokowi and the people of Indonesia.

Currently, PM Modi is in Jakarta, Indonesia. Prior to the G20 Summit in Delhi, which is scheduled to take place from September 8 to 10, he will return to India.
