By 2030, India aims to double the agricultural exports from the current level of about $50 billion
India's agricultural exports are expected to double from their current level of about $50 billion to $100 billion by 2030, indicating a significant upswing in the industry.
Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal presented India's ambitious goal of reaching a net export value of $2 trillion in goods and services by 2030 at the IndusFood Show 2024 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Barthwal recommended creating a task group in the Ministry of Commerce to find and remove trade obstacles.
The speaker emphasized the importance of the Indian food industry prioritizing compliance with the technical standards and needs of potential export markets, particularly in the area of "ready-to-eat" goods.
Despite limitations on the sale of wheat, rice, and sugar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated in a virtual inauguration speech that India aims to exceed last year's agricultural export total of $53 billion.
