According to the PTI news agency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the largest housing project for economically underprivileged sections in Solapur, Maharashtra, and next month.
According to the outlet, which cited official sources, the huge housing project spans 100 acres and includes 30,000 dwellings, 15,000 of which have already been built.
The largest economically disadvantaged housing plan is presently nearing completion in Solapur's Raynagar neighbourhood. PM Modi will launch it next month, according to the bureaucrat, who was speaking at an event held by business lobby Naredco.
According to the report , each house measures 300 square feet and will cost the beneficiaries Rs. 6 lakh. It's a collection of seven housing associations.
Houses reserved for families earning less than Rs 3 lakh per year
The houses will be for families earning less than Rs 3 lakh per year. Unorganised labourers, textile workers, beedi workers, construction workers, ragpickers, and garment workers are among those that benefit.
The project is being carried out by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada), with assistance from the central government's Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
Dharavi rehabilitation project would begin soon
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin work on the multi-thousand crore Dharavi rehabilitation project would be inked very soon, according to Maharashtra's additional chief secretary Valsa Nair Singh.
According to her, the state administration is focusing on cluster-based development, and each project will require the signing of a cluster and development agreement.
Singh went on to say that a similar technique is being taken to redevelop Kamathipura, the financial capital's red light area.
At the same event, Pravin Darade, the senior secretary for the environment, stated that the government is working on a climate change action plan and has a team of 20 interns working with several government ministries as part of the process.
