Second edition of Vande Bharat to be flagged off by PM to operate on Varanasi-Delhi route
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to flag off the second edition of semi-high-speed train Vande Bharat. The PM is scheduled to flag off the train at 2:15 pm on Dec 18, Monday. The saffron-colored train will be running between Varanasi and Delhi. Passengers destined for Prayagraj, Kanpur, and New Delhi will benefit from the new train.
The train will start operating on the route from December 20. The stops of the Vande Bharat will include Prayagraj, Kanpur Central, Itawa, Tundla and Aligarh, and finally Delhi. It will run six days a week exempting Thursday.
The Semi-high speed train will begin its journey from Varanasi at 6 am, reach Prayagraj at 7:34 am, Kanpur Central at 9:30 am, and Delhi at 2:05 pm.
This Vande Bharat will commence the returning journey from New Delhi at 3 pm, reach Kanpur Central at 7:12 pm, Prayagraj at 9:15 pm, and finally Varanasi at 11:05 pm.
The new edition comes with new facilities such as Wi-Fi infotainment, a GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, and bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free conveniences.
Features like LED lights, charging points for every passenger, individual touch-based reading lights, roller blinds, and better air conditioning systems are also added to the list.
