Since Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter (now known as X) in October 2022, he has rapidly introduced various changes to the platform. From the launch of Twitter Blue to extended tweet lengths and video posting, Musk has been reshaping the social media landscape and continues to do so.

He has long discussed the concept of creating X, an "everything app," aiming to expand the platform's capabilities beyond mere thought sharing.

According to recent reports, Musk is considering the removal of headlines from news articles shared on X. The purpose behind this move is to decrease the vertical space occupied by a tweet, allowing more content to fit within a user's timeline. Currently, Twitter serves as a primary information source for users, featuring numerous shared news articles.

This change would result in shared links displaying only an image and a URL overlay, omitting the headline. Clicking on the link would direct users to the article's source website.

Should users wish to include a headline, they would need to manually input it as accompanying text alongside the shared link. An insider disclosed that this idea originated from Musk, who intends to optimize screen space and potentially reduce clickbait.

Musk also urged journalists to consider publishing directly on the platform for greater freedom and higher earnings, indicating his support for X's capabilities.

While Musk acknowledged the absence of compelling social networks at present, he expressed his determination to build a better one. Some critics resisted the rebranding of Twitter to X, predicting its downfall and user migration.

Musk addressed these concerns, acknowledging potential failures but emphasizing the team's commitment to creating a standout social media network.

Linda Yaccarino, X CEO, echoed this sentiment by affirming that X holds a significant place in the digital landscape. Recent reports have also indicated that X might soon introduce a job search feature, expanding its functionality to include job postings for users.
