Under the PM Ujjwala programme, the government will invest Rs 1,650 crore on 75 lakh new LPG connections
The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana provided 75 lakh LPG connections, and the government of Narendra Modi approved the distribution of Rs 1,650 crore to oil marketing corporations on Wednesday, September 13.
Anurag Thakur, the minister of information and broadcasting, informed reporters in New Delhi that the decision was made during a meeting of the Union Cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The provision for an extra 75 lakh Ujjwala connections will bring the overall number of PMUY plan beneficiaries to 10.35 crore.
By providing free cooking gas (LPG) connections to low-income families, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), which Modi unveiled on May 1, 2016, in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, aims to safeguard the health of women and children.
