The Indian stock market, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will remain open for trading between March 19 and March 21, 2026, despite the presence of several regional and religious festivals.

According to the official holiday calendar of both exchanges, there are no scheduled trading holidays during this period. Market operations across segments, including equities, derivatives, currency, and commodities, will continue as usual.

The clarification comes amid rising queries from investors due to festivals such as Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, Chaitra Navratri, and Eid al-Fitr falling around the same time.

Earlier this month, stock markets were closed on March 3 on account of Holi. In total, markets are scheduled to remain shut for 12 days in March 2026, including weekends.

However, none of the upcoming festivals this week fall under the exchanges’ notified holiday list. As a result, trading activity will proceed without interruption.

Investors are advised to refer to the official exchange calendars for confirmed trading holidays, as only designated dates lead to market closure.
