It is being told that this IPO will open from 22 September and can be listed in the stock market by 30 September. If everything goes as planned, then this IPO can prove to be the biggest IPO of the country's financial sector till date. This can be a big opportunity for investors, especially for those who have been waiting to invest in Tata Group companies for a long time.

Due to strong financial results and RBI guidelines, this listing is considered special for investors.

This IPO can be the biggest IPO of the country's financial sector

Tata Capital's IPO is going to be launched with a valuation of around ₹94,600 crore. According to reports, the company is planning to raise around ₹17,200 crore (ie $2 billion) through this issue. The company recently filed its updated DRHP (Draft Red Herring Prospectus). A total of 47.58 crore shares will be issued in this IPO. Will sell stake through OFS

In this IPO, Tata Sons and International Finance Corporation (IFC) will sell their stake through Offer for Sale (OFS). Under OFS, Tata Sons will offer 23 crore shares, while IFC will offer 3.58 crore shares in the market. Currently, Tata Sons holds 88.6% stake in Tata Capital, and IFC holds 1.8%. The money raised from this issue will be used by the company to strengthen its tier-1 capital base and meet future financing needs.

Listing became necessary for this reason

According to RBI guidelines, it has become mandatory for Tata Capital to be listed in the stock market. Earlier in 2022, RBI classified Tata Capital as 'Upper Layer NBFC'. Companies in this category are required to be listed in the stock market within three years. This listing of Tata Capital is being done under this rule, which is considered strategically very important.

Profit doubled in Q1 FY26

Tata Capital's strong financial results ahead of the IPO are increasing investor confidence. In the June quarter (Q1 FY26), the company has earned a net profit of ₹ 1,040.93 crore, which is more than double the ₹ 472.21 crore of the same quarter last year. During this period, the total income of the company was ₹ 7,691.65 crore. These figures clearly show that the company's growth is stable and the fundamentals are strong, which is a good sign for the IPO.

To make the IPO successful, Tata Capital has appointed several leading investment banks and financial institutions. These include-

Axis Capital Ltd.

Kotak Mahindra Capital

HDFC Bank

ICICI Securities

Citigroup Global Markets

SBI Capital Markets

J.P. Morgan India
