Markets May Open Flat Despite Global Gains: GIFT Nifty Down 75 Points
Indian stock markets may begin flat today, April 30, even though global markets closed higher overnight. GIFT Nifty, which gives early signals for Indian markets, was trading about 75 points lower at 7:45 am, hinting at a slow start.

In the U.S., all three key indices – Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq – saw slight gains. The Dow led with a 0.75% rise, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq followed with gains of 0.58% and 0.55%, respectively. Investors balanced corporate earnings, progress in U.S. trade talks, and fears of a global slowdown.
Asian markets also showed mixed signals. While Japanese and Taiwanese stocks had small gains, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell by 0.5%.
Back home, after a strong 10% rally from the monthly low, markets have moved sideways in the last few sessions. Tuesday's trading remained cautious due to rising border tensions.
Market expert Shrikant Chouhan from Kotak Securities shared key levels to watch. He said that if the Nifty goes above 24,450, it may climb to 24,550–24,600. But if it falls below 24,250, there could be a fast drop towards 24,100. Pullbacks near support levels are good buying chances, he added.
