Mumbai: The Indian stock market will remain closed for multiple days in March 2026, with both the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange observing scheduled trading holidays.

According to the 2026 holiday calendar of the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange, trading will remain suspended on account of festive occasions and regular weekend closures.

The market will remain shut for a total of 12 days in March 2026. This includes three public holidays and standard weekly offs on Saturdays and Sundays.

The exchanges will remain closed for Holi, Ram Navami and Mahavir Jayanti. Trading activities on both NSE and BSE will be suspended on these days due to public holidays.

Eid al Fitr, also known as Ramadan Eid, falls on Saturday, March 21, 2026. As the market is already closed on Saturdays, it will remain a non trading day by default.

Market participants have been advised to keep track of these holidays to plan their trades, settlements and portfolio strategies accordingly.
