The Indian Army has made a major change in the Tradesman category for Agneepath recruitment 2026. Now, candidates will have to select their preferred trade at the time of application, otherwise, they will not be selected even if their name appears in the merit list.
An important news has emerged for the youth preparing for the Indian Army's Agneepath recruitment 2026. Even before the recruitment process begins, the army has changed an important rule related to the Tradesman category. Now, candidates will have to choose their preferred trade at the time of application. If a candidate makes this mistake and does not fill in the trade, they will not get an appointment even if their name is in the merit list. Therefore, it has become very important for the youth preparing for Agneepath recruitment to carefully understand the new rules.
No Appointment Even After Making it to the Merit List
According to the notice issued on the official website joinindianarmy.nic.in, candidates applying for 8th and 10th pass Tradesman posts will have to fill in their trade preferences themselves. 10th pass candidates can choose a maximum of 9 trades, while 8th pass candidates will only get the option of 2 trades. If a candidate does not fill in the trade while applying, they will not be selected even if their name is on the merit list.
