CBSE Board Exams 2026: QR Code on Class 12 Maths Paper Leads to YouTube, Board Responds
CBSE clarified that the Class 12 Mathematics paper held on March 9 is genuine after a QR code printed on some question papers redirected to a YouTube video.
Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday clarified that the CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Board Exam 2026 question paper held on March 9 is genuine after concerns were raised about QR codes printed on some papers redirecting users to a video on YouTube.
The board issued a statement after some students and parents reported that scanning one of the QR codes printed on certain sets of the question paper led to a YouTube video. The development triggered doubts about the authenticity of the examination paper.
CBSE said the question papers used in the exam contain several security features, including QR codes. These codes are designed to help verify the authenticity of the question paper in case of suspected security breaches.
According to the board, the redirection to a YouTube video was noticed in a few sets of the Class 12 Mathematics paper.
Responding to the concerns, CBSE stated that the question papers used in the examination are genuine and that the security of the exam process remains intact.
"The Board confirms that the question papers are genuine. The security of the question papers remains uncompromised," the board said.
The board added that it has taken the matter seriously and is working on measures to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future examinations.
