<p>The police-carrying gangster turned politician Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati jail to Prayagraj has now entered Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning according to officials.The police entered Ahmedabad jail on Sunday and left for Prayagraj with Ahmed at around 6pm. Talking about the current location, after passing various states Ahmed along with police has now entered UP early morning at around 6am and stopped at Jhansi police lines. Further, the officials have confirmed they will reach Prayagraj in the evening via the Bundelkhand Expressway.Other than Atiq Ahmed, his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, who was logged in Bareliy jail was also taken to Prayagraj by a separate police force. A video of Atiq saying ‘Muje inka program malum hai’ is presently going viral on social media,. taking about the video, he said this when a reporter asked him if he feared for his life, he then said, “Mujhe inka programme maloom hai…Hatya karna chahte hain (I know their programme…They want to murder me).” He also said “Court ke kandhe pe rakh ke maarna chahte hain.”
After advocate Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 killing of then BSP MLA Raju Pal, and policemen deployed as his security guards were killed in a shooting on February 24, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath had, while speaking in Uttar Pradesh Assembly, vowed to destroy the mafia. Two of the accused were shot dead in separate encounters by police on February 27 and March 6.
