Aashiesh Sharrma talks about prioritizing Family over work during His Father's Health Crisis, says "At the end of the day, he is our father, and nothing else matters"
In a heartwarming conversation actor Aashiesh Sharrma opened up about the harrowing experience of nearly losing his father, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, earlier this year. Known for his roles in shows like Prithvi Vallabh - Itihaas Bhi, Rahasya Bhi and Siya Ke Ram, Aashiesh revealed that his father had suffered a massive heart attack in April and was admitted to a hospital in Jaipur after complaining of breathlessness.

The actor, who rarely shares personal setbacks, had turned to his Instagram followers at the time, asking for their prayers as his father battled for his life. Aashiesh’s father spent 73 long days in the ICU, leaving the family in a state of uncertainty. "The doctors were uncertain, warning us that he might never regain consciousness due to global hypoxia and a rare blood infection that had caused the cardiac arrest," Aashiesh shared.
He revealed to The Times of India about the same saying , “But we refused to give up. For 73 agonizing days, we stayed by his side in the ICU, watching over him, talking to him, and holding onto the hope that our voices would reach him. The journey was grueling. After a few days, he started to respond to the treatment. It was a miracle that the doctors themselves could hardly believe."
After three months of uncertainty, the actor's father finally returned home in mid-July, where he continues to take baby steps toward recovery. Aashiesh and his family remain by his side, determined to help him regain his strength.
The actor also shed light on the immense financial burden that came with the extended hospital stay, admitting that the treatment cost over a lakh a day. "The financial strain of the treatment, costing over a lakh a day, was immense, and we were acutely aware of how fortunate we were to be able to afford it," he said.
Despite the overwhelming challenges, Aashiesh and his wife, Archana Taide, remained united in their efforts to support his father. Archana, a fellow actress, managed her production work remotely from Jaipur while helping to care for her father-in-law. Aashiesh put his work on hold for several months, choosing to prioritize his family during this critical time. "I am not just an actor, I am a son, too. I was getting work calls, but for me, it was paramount to stay with my father and take care of his health. I postponed all my work," Aashiesh explained.
The experience also challenged common assumptions about celebrity life. "Many assumed that because Archana and I are actors living in Mumbai, we might distance ourselves from our family in times of crisis. But when they saw us standing by my father's side for four long months, postponing everything without a second thought, they saw beyond the celebrity facade to the simple truth: that at the end of the day, he is our father, and nothing else matters," Aashiesh shared. "Sometimes people forget that I am just his son, not an actor, who was beside his father, praying for his recovery and fighting to save his life."
Now back in Mumbai, Aashiesh is gradually returning to his professional commitments. However, the ordeal with his father has given him a renewed perspective on life, family, and the importance of standing by loved ones in their time of need.
