Case Details

The Hyderabad Police filed an FIR against Sandhya Theatre management, Allu Arjun, and his personal security team, citing negligence that led to the fatal stampede. The FIR was registered under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) r/w 3(5) (causing grievous hurt) of the BNS Act.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Akshansh Yadav, the chaotic scene was allegedly caused by the theatre’s failure to prepare for crowd management and ensure separate entry and exit provisions for the actor's team.

Sequence of Events

The stampede unfolded when Arjun arrived at the theatre around 9:30 PM. As fans rushed to catch a glimpse of the actor, his personal security team reportedly pushed the crowd, leading to panic and chaos. The situation spiraled out of control, resulting in the tragic death and injuries.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Allu Arjun was taken into custody by a team from the Chikkadpally police station and will be produced before a magistrate later in the day. Sandhya Theatre’s owner and two employees have already been arrested.

The actor had approached the Telangana High Court seeking his name's removal from the FIR, but the plea is yet to be heard.

This incident has cast a shadow over the release of Pushpa 2, raising serious questions about crowd safety at public events. Further investigations are ongoing, with the authorities promising stringent legal action against those found responsible.
