Actress Lakshmi Menon Named in Kidnapping and Assault Case in Kochi
The Ernakulam North Police have confirmed that actress Lakshmi Menon will be questioned in connection with the kidnapping and assault of an IT professional, Aliyar Shah Salim. According to the FIR, Lakshmi was in the car along with Mithun, Aneesh, and another female friend when the crime took place.

Two Accused Arrested
Police have already arrested Mithun and Aneesh, both natives of Aluva and Paravur. Investigators revealed that Lakshmi Menon and her friend are currently untraceable, sparking speculations that they might be absconding.
Incident at Kochi Bar
The case stems from a barroom argument on Banerjee Road in Kochi on Sunday. The fight, which initially started between Lakshmi’s group and another party, later escalated outside the bar.
Kidnapping Allegations
Complainant Aliyar Shah Salim claimed that around 11:45 pm near the North Railway Bridge, the accused blocked his car, dragged him out, and assaulted him inside their vehicle. He was allegedly beaten on the face and body before being threatened and later dropped at the Aluva-Paravur intersection.
Police Investigation
Based on the complaint and CCTV footage tracing the car’s number plate, police launched an investigation, which led to the arrests. Authorities confirmed that questioning of Lakshmi Menon will take place soon.
Lakshmi Menon’s Film Career
Lakshmi Menon, originally from Tripunithura, made her acting debut in 2011 with Vinayan’s film Raghu’s Own Rasiya. She rose to fame as the lead actress in Vikram Prabhu’s Kumki and went on to feature in several Tamil hits, including Sundara Pandian.
