MUMBAI, India– 21 November, 2025: Amazon MX Player’s I-POPSTAR rang in its Grand Finale with an electric first chapter, turning the stage into a celebration of everything the show stands for, from original music and fearless performances to India’s next generation of pop voices. The evening felt less like a competition and more like a landmark moment for Indie-pop, as mentors, finalists, and a roaring audience came together to kick off the final stretch of the season.

The finale began with all four mentors, King, Aastha Gill, Aditya Rikhari, and Parmish Verma, storming the stage to thunderous applause, setting the tone for an evening that felt both celebratory and historic. In a playful moment, Aditya pulled other mentors’ leg when he saw three of his own contestants in the Top 6, quipping, “Team Rikhari sab par bhari,” instantly lifting the energy in the room.

The Top 6 finalists, Rohit Raut, Rishabh Panchal, Maan Pannu, Charan Pathania, Jaya Rohilla, and Radhika Bhide, received a grand welcome as the mentors thanked them for delivering a season filled with originality, emotion, and powerful performances. All six finalists then came together for a stirring rendition of “Sitare Hai Yahaan Saare,” joined by former contestants who returned to support them, creating a heartwarming, goosebump-filled moment that perfectly captured the spirit of the show.

The atmosphere went up another notch when Neeti Mohan joined the mentors as the special guest judge. Overflowing with excitement, she praised the contestants and the show, expressing, “This is insane, I’ve been watching all the reels and listening to so many original songs. This show is history. India is choosing to listen to these artists and that is the power of independent music.” She also announced that she would be performing her new track “Mirza” for the very first time on the I-POPSTAR stage.

What followed was a run of stand-out performances. Jaya Rohilla returned to her Haryanvi roots with a fiery, full-throttle act that had Aastha, Neeti and Jaya dancing together on stage, before pulling Parmish, King and Aditya in for the hook step. King then lit up the stage with a medley of his hits and surprised the audience with his first-ever performance of “Tu Itni Kamal Hai” from his upcoming album, leaving audiences in a frenzy.

Aditya Rikhari introduced Maan Pannu as “the artist who gave India its first real moving anthem and someone even Salman Khan is a fan of.” Maan also delivered a powerful performance that underlined why he’s been one of the season’s most talked-about voices. Neeti then joined him on stage, praising his ability to connect instantly with his songs before revealing that she had created her own version of his track “Hope.” Their soulful duet made for a special moment that left all mentors visibly moved.

But that was not all. Host Sunny brought a light-hearted interlude with a fun segment featuring all mentors and Neeti Mohan, adding laughter and warmth to the evening. Neeti followed with the first live performance of “Mirza,” a mesmerising moment that prompted Radhika Bhide to join her for an impromptu duet. Rohit and Jaya followed it up with a dynamic joint act that showcased two distinct voices in a way that felt both powerful and effortless.

As the evening drew to a close, Neeti left the contestants with a heartfelt message, saying, “You all are the future of pop in India. I’m so happy pop music is rising again, and this show is all heart. You all have my heart.” Before closing, the host played a fun montage celebrating each mentor, naming Parmish Verma the ‘Life Lesson Guru,’ Aditya Rikhari the ‘Aalap Guru,’ Aastha Gill the ‘Hasya Guru,’ and King the ‘Dance Guru,’ perfectly summing up the humour and camaraderie of the season.

As the first chapter of the finale neared its end, the evening saw an exciting surprise appearance, Munawar Faruqui joined the celebrations as a special guest to promote his upcoming Amazon MX Player series, First Copy Season 2. His entry added fresh energy to the room, marking a unique crossover between two of the platform’s biggest fan-favourite worlds.. With emotions running high, careers on the brink of change, and the title just one episode away, the stage is all set for the final reveal.

India is now just one step away from meeting its first-ever I-POPSTAR. The final part of the finale will stream on 28th November, exclusively on Amazon MX Player, streaming for free on mobile, Connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Airtel Xtreme.
