Baahubali: The Eternal War (Part 1) Teaser OUT: Why Fans Prefer Sharad Kelkar’s Voice Over Prabhas’ Hindi Dubbing?

The teaser of Baahubali: The Eternal War (Part 1) is out, but fans are missing one powerful element — Sharad Kelkar’s iconic voice. Despite Prabhas lending his own voice for the Hindi version, audiences say the magic just isn’t the same.

When Baahubali first released on the big screens in 2015, it wasn’t just Prabhas’ mighty portrayal that roared; it was also the majestic, heavy voice that added meaning behind the character's Hindi version. The voice belonged to Sharad Kelkar, and ever since the initial release, the audiences have associated him as someone who added definition to the character.

In the recently released teaser of Baahubali: The Eternal War (Part 1), Prabhas himself voiced his character for the Hindi version. However, fans are seeming to be a little disconnected. Many are talking about how it does not carry the same gravitas and emotional depth that Kelkar brought to the table.

Viewers couldn’t keep away from demanding Sharad Kelkar’s return as the voice behind Baahubali. “Please, please, please with due respect to Prabhas’s effort, don’t replace SHARAD KELKAR’S iconic voice in the Baahubali series His dubbing gave life to the character! The Prabhas voice in the animated “Eternal” series just doesn’t feel the weight... please keep the original! ,” wrote a user and another wrote, “PLEASE BRING BACK SHARAD KELKAR'S VOICE PLS..”

Another user expressed, “Great fan of this franchise but pls use @SharadK7 voice for Hindi. Prabhas' voice doesn’t suit in Hindi,” and another wrote, “Don’t replace SHARAD KELKAR’S iconic voice in the Baahubali series ” A comment read, “We want SHARAD KELKAR'S voice ,” and another read, “Looks fabulous. Please bring back Sharad Kelkar for Hindi dubbing. It's absolutely necessary to have his voice in Hindi version.” A fan expressed, “I personally feel like his (Prabhas voice) doesn't carry that epic charm that it had in the original hindi dubbed,” and another said, “I know Prabhas hindi is improving but Sharad Kelkar is emotion for Bahubali” The demand continues with such expressions - an honestly, the audiences have a point! Sharad Kelkar defined the character arcs of Baahubali with his commanding voice, controlled modulation and a majestic intensity that added to the larger-than-life aura.

Earlier too, Kelkar added immense weight to his portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. His command over the character felt so honest that audiences felt a strong screen connection between the reel and real!

With Baahubali: The Eternal War teaser, the demand to make Sharad Kelkar the voice behind Baahubali highlights a strong truth about cinema - how critical professional dubbing really is. When done right, it can change the game of a film’s impact, of a character’s impact, bridging audiences across languages.

Meanwhile, as Prabhas continues to rule on-screen, Sharad Kelkar’s voice continues to echo in audience’s memories.
