A Unique Story with Depth
Talking about the film, Bill Skarsgård said, “This is one of the best scripts I’ve read. It’s an exciting thrill ride with a unique story and tone. The movie mixes humor with deep emotions, creating a surprising experience. Boy’s journey, told from his perspective, highlights the tragic elements of his life, which has been all about destruction.”
Training with a Martial Arts Legend
Skarsgård shared his thoughts on training with Yayan Ruhian, a legendary martial artist known for his expertise. He said, “Yayan is truly a master. He has devoted his life to mastering this physical, spiritual, and violent art form. But despite his skills, he was incredibly kind and patient while teaching me how to fight him."
Yayan Ruhian on His Role as the Shaman
Yayan Ruhian, who plays the Shaman in the film, described his experience as exciting and unique. “The story is electrifying, and the Shaman is a fascinating character. This role allowed me to learn new fighting techniques I had never seen before,” he shared. Ruhian also praised the film’s choreography, saying, “Dave’s combination of techniques like jujitsu and Aikido was impressive. But what I enjoyed most was exploring the Shaman’s relationship with Boy, which was unlike anything I’ve done before. I’m grateful to the filmmakers for this opportunity.”
