Bollywood Stars Celebrate India’s Real Heroes with ‘Vocal for Local’ This Diwali
This Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vocal for Local campaign came alive in the most powerful way when Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Varun Dhawan , Shankar Mahadevan and Rupali Ganguly met with local artisans, the very people who shape the spirit of the festival.
The stars didn’t just endorse the message, they embodied it. They spent time with the artisans, clicked photos with them and addressed them as “the real superstars”, acknowledging that Diwali truly begins with their hands, from the diyas that light our homes to the colourful decor and handcrafted gifts that define the season.
Instead of simply promoting local purchases, they shifted the spotlight where it belongs, on the creators. Their message was simple,
“Festivals aren’t made in factories, they’re made in homes and workshops across India.”
With this gesture, Madhuri, Shankar, Triptii, Varun and Rupali turned Vocal for Local from a campaign into an emotional tribute, reminding the country that buying local isn’t charity, it’s gratitude.
