Chhaava Box Office Collection Day 1: Vicky Kaushal’s latest historical drama Chhaava has taken the box office by storm. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, had a fantastic opening, collecting Rs.31 crore on its first day across all languages. This makes it the biggest opener of 2025 so far and the best Valentine’s Day release in Indian cinema history.

Breaks Multiple Records
According to box office reports, Chhaava has outperformed some major Bollywood films. It became Vicky Kaushal’s highest opening film, easily surpassing Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs.8.20 crore).
It surpassed Sky Force, which collected Rs.15.30 crore on its opening day last month.
It broke the record for the highest Valentine’s Day collection, previously held by Gully Boy (Rs.19.40 crore in 2019).
With a strong start, Chhaava is expected to maintain steady growth in the coming days.
About the Film
Chhaava is a historical action drama based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. Rashmika Mandanna plays Maharani Yesubai, while Akshaye Khanna portrays Aurangzeb. The film also stars Ashutosh Rana as Hambirao Mohite and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced under Maddock Films, the film is an adaptation of the Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
