Columbus Native Wins MrBeast's ‘Beast Games’ and Makes History with $10M Prize
Jeffrey Randall Allen, originally from Columbus, Ohio, has made history by winning Beast Games on Amazon Prime. The reality game show, created by YouTube star MrBeast, awarded Allen a record-breaking $10 million prize—the biggest in entertainment history. The season finale aired on Thursday, revealing his incredible victory.

A Life-Changing Final Round
In the last challenge of the show, Allen had to choose the correct briefcase out of ten, each shuffled by the runner-up, Twana Barnett. In a stroke of luck, he picked the right one on his first try, securing the grand prize. Overwhelmed with joy, he slid down a pyramid of cash and hugged his wife, Jen, and son, Jack.
Allen ’s Ohio Roots & Journey to the Show Beast Games
Although Allen now lives in California, he grew up in Clintonville, Ohio, and graduated from Bishop Watterson High School before earning a business degree from Ohio University. Speaking about his hometown, he said, “Ohio is my home. My whole family is still there, and the support from Columbus has been incredible.”
Winning for a Bigger Cause
Allen joined Beast Games for his son, Lucas, who has a rare genetic disorder called Creatine Transporter Deficiency. This condition affects how the body transports creatine to cells, leading to developmental challenges. There are only about 150 known cases worldwide.
Throughout the competition, Allen spoke about his son’s condition, bringing much-needed awareness. He also serves as the volunteer Vice Chair of the Association for Creatine Deficiencies’ Board of Directors. He plans to use part of his winnings to fund research and clinical trials to help find a cure for Lucas.
After Allen’s victory, his wife Jen celebrated, saying, “You’re going to find Lucas a cure.”
