An Emotional Tribute from Vinay Sinha's Family
Vinay Sinha, the original producer of the movie, had always preserved the film’s negatives with care. His family, especially daughter Priti Sinha, led the project to restore and re-release the film as a heartfelt tribute to his vision and legacy.
New Song Added in Opening Credits
A special surprise has been added to the film – an un-picturised song from the original music album now features in the opening credits.
Sound Restoration Faced Major Challenges
Vinay Sinha's grandson, Shrey Oberoi, handled the sound restoration. The original sound only had mono tracks, so creating a Dolby 5.1 experience was difficult. The team used new sound effects while staying true to the original background score.
Colour Grading Supervised by Experts
Renowned DOP Sunil Patel supervised the colour correction, keeping the film's nostalgic feel alive. The visuals were enhanced with care to maintain the same emotional impact as the original.
Behind-the-Scenes Bond with Salman and Aamir
Namrata, Vinay Sinha’s daughter, shared that her father had a close bond with Salim Khan, which helped bring Salman Khan on board. Aamir Khan later joined the project and suggested Rajkumar Santoshi as the director. Initially, Santoshi thought they were two different films – one with each star!
Years of Hard Work Behind the Original Film
Amod Sinha, Vinay’s son, assisted the director and was part of the production team. He remembered how his father worked for four years to bring Andaz Apna Apna to life.
The Legacy Lives On with Sequel Plans
The Sinha family is not just stopping with the re-release. They plan to produce a sequel, Andaz Apna Apna 2, keeping Vinay Sinha’s legacy alive.
Now Showing in Theatres Across India
Distributed by Cinepolis India, the restored version is now playing in theatres across the country.
