Dayaben is Finally Coming Back to TMKOC, Confirms Asit Kumarr Modi

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) producer Asit Kumarr Modi has officially confirmed that Dayaben’s character will be back on the show. In a recent interview, Asit shared that the team is actively looking for Disha Vakani’s replacement, who has been away from the show since 2018 due to her maternity leave.

New Actress to Replace Disha Vakani?

Asit Modi revealed that he has shortlisted a few actresses and will soon meet them for further discussions. He said,
“We will surely bring Dayaben back. Many viewers miss her. Our team is doing everything possible to reintroduce the character.”

He added, “I have selected some potential actresses and will meet them soon. It's been five years since Disha left, and we still miss her on set. She was like family to all of us.”

Mock Shoots Underway for New Dayaben

According to reports, the team has already begun mock shoots with a selected actress. While her name hasn’t been revealed yet, sources say Asit Modi seems happy with her performance during the auditions.

Disha Vakani Is Still Family to Asit Modi

Earlier this year, Asit Modi also shared that Disha Vakani is unlikely to return as she now has two kids. He spoke warmly about their close bond and said Disha is like a sister to him. “She tied a Rakhi to me. We worked together for 17 years. Her family is like my own.”

TMKOC Still Going Strong After 16 Years

Even after 16 years, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah continues to be one of India’s most loved sitcoms. Dayaben’s return is expected to bring back the old charm that fans have been missing since 2018.
