Delhi High Court Questions YouTube Channels Again Over False News on Aaradhya Bachchan
The Delhi High Court has once again issued notices to nine YouTube channels, including Bollywood Time, for spreading false news about Aaradhya Bachchan’s health. Aaradhya is the daughter of Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In 2023, the court had already restrained these channels from sharing misleading content about her.
Delhi High Court ’s Next Hearing on March 17
Justice Mini Pushkarna issued the notice on Monday and set the next hearing date for March 17. This action was taken after these YouTube channels failed to respond to Aaradhya’s petition. In her complaint, she accused the channels of spreading fake news and editing her images to mislead people.
Google Ordered to Reveal Channel Details
Back in April 2023, the High Court directed Google to provide details of these YouTube channels, including their identity, contact information, email IDs, and IP addresses. The court had also instructed Google to remove all videos related to Aaradhya’s health and deactivate any links mentioned in the petition.
Government’s Action Against Misinformation
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was also asked to block access to the misleading content to prevent its spread.
