Shahrukh family migrated from Pakistan

Film actor Shahrukh Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi. His father Taj Mohammad was from Peshawar, Pakistan, and when India was partitioned, his family settled in Delhi. Taj Mohammad was a freedom fighter and fought for India against the British Raj. After the partition, when Shahrukh's family started afresh in India, their financial condition became very bad.
