Gram Chikitsalay Review: Amol Parashar’s Rural Drama Falls Flat

Gram Chikitsalay Review: Gram Chikitsalay tells the story of Dr. Prabhat Sinha (played by Amol Parashar), a young doctor from Delhi who gets posted to a remote village called Bhatkandi. He is supposed to run a nearly abandoned health center, but no patients show up, and even his staff doesn’t support him. The series follows his struggle to win over the villagers and treat even one patient.

What Works

Relatable Rural Setup: The village atmosphere feels authentic and reminds viewers of the hit series Panchayat.

Performances: Amol Parashar does a decent job as the lead. Supporting actors like Anandeshwar Dwivedi and Akash Makhija add depth, while Garima Vikrant Singh delivers a strong performance as Indu.

What Doesn’t Work

Weak Direction: Although the series starts well, the direction becomes slow and loses grip as the episodes move forward.

Poor Writing: Unlike Panchayat, the emotional moments come too late and fail to connect. The writing by Vaibhav and Shreya feels dull, and the dialogues lack punch.

Unbalanced Casting: Akansha Ranjan is underutilized, while Vinay Pathak gets more screen presence without much context.

Editing Issues: The slow pace and stretched scenes make the show feel longer than it is.

Technical Quality

The series captures the rural vibe beautifully. The background music is average. However, the editing is a major drawback. Despite having short episodes, the show feels too slow and scattered due to poor narrative control.

Final Verdict

Gram Chikitsalay had great potential with its concept and setting, but it fails to impress. With a slow story, weak script, and average direction, the series turns out to be disappointing. If you're expecting something fun or emotional like Panchayat, this one might not meet your expectations.
