Bollywood star Akshay Kumar spoke candidly about the pressures of stardom and the fleeting nature of public attention during a conversation with journalist Rajdeep Sardesai at the India Today Conclave.

Responding to a question about constant media attention and public visibility, Kumar admitted that the presence of cameras, including paparazzi, is a reality. “Sometimes you wake up in the night at 4.30, and by the time you step out, it already feels like nine in the morning,” he said, describing the relentless pace of a star’s life.

Reflecting on the uncertainty that comes with celebrity status, the actor added, “One day the cameramen may not be there. The arc lights may not be there. I just want to keep acting for as long as I can. I love films and I want to all kinds of films for as long as I live. I want to do action, comedy, tragedy, emotional - everything. I want to try everything,” he said.

Recalling his humble beginnings in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, Kumar said he sees his career as an opportunity he does not want to waste. “I have got this chance. Some people never get it. People love me, they watch my films, why would I let go of that?” he said poignantly.
