Actress Kangana Ranaut’s 2025 political drama 'Emergency' is now available for streaming on Netflix. The platform announced the release by sharing a promotional poster on social media.

Netflix’s official Instagram handle wrote, "The gripping story of power and peril. Watch Emergency, now on Netflix."  Earlier, the makers had announced that Emergency would drop on Netflix on March 17.

Emergency portrays the controversial 21-month period in India from 1975 to 1977, when then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a state of Emergency. Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Indira Gandhi, while the movie also stars:

Kangana’s Return to Direction

Known for her bold choices, Kangana Ranaut returned to directing with Emergency. She previously directed Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019). The film’s release was delayed due to controversies regarding its depiction of historical events and issues with the censor board.

Despite mixed reviews, Film managed to earn Rs.21.65 crore gross at the domestic box office, according to Sacnilk.
