Karate Expert and Actor Shihan Hussaini Passes Away in Chennai
Tamil actor and martial arts expert Shihan Hussaini passed away on March 25 at a private hospital in Chennai. The 63-year-old had been battling advanced blood cancer for several weeks. His family confirmed the sad news on social media.

Public Tribute Before Final Rites
Shihan Hussaini’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence, ‘High Command’ in Besant Nagar, Chennai, for family, friends, and students to pay their last respects. Later, his body will be taken to Madurai for the final rites.
A Life of Achievements & Contributions
Shihan Hussaini was not just an actor but also a skilled karate and archery expert. He made his Tamil film debut in 1986 with Kamal Haasan’s Punnagai Mannan and later appeared in Rajinikanth’s Velaikaran and Vijay’s Badri, where he played a karate coach. His recent works included Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and Chennai City Gangsters.
Fighting Cancer & Giving Back to Society
Throughout his illness, Shihan Hussaini shared updates about his treatment on social media. Moved by his condition, the Tamil Nadu government granted him financial aid of Rs.5 lakh. Before his passing, he had expressed his wish to donate his body for medical research.
