Basu explained that while both films revolve around emotional narratives, the stories are completely different. He emphasized that Kartik’s tight schedule due to his commitments with Karan Johar’s Tu Meri Main Tera and Basu’s own obligations with Metro... In Dino promotions caused the delay.

Reshoots and Script Tweaks, Not Competition

Basu also acknowledged that certain scenes are being rewritten and reshot—not because of creative overlap with Saiyaara, but to ensure originality. Industry reports suggest that the filmmaker is taking extra care to make sure the film stands apart in its tone and treatment of love, heartbreak, and emotional depth.

Aashiqui Franchise Uncertainty Still Looms

While the project is rumored to be Aashiqui 3, the title remains unofficial. Reports indicate that T-Series is still in a legal tussle with Vishesh Films over the rights to the Aashiqui franchise. Yet, a recreated version of the iconic Aashiqui title song might feature in the film.
