Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Release: When and Where to Watch Animated Epic Blockbuster Film
After ruling the box office for 50 days, Mahavatar Narsimha is finally making its OTT debut. The animated blockbuster from Ashwin Kumar’s Mahavatar series will begin streaming on Netflix from September 19, 2025, in five languages.

Mahavatar Narsimha OTT Release: Mahavatar Narsimha, the animated epic based on the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, released in theatres on July 25 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film struck gold at the box office, especially in Hindi, grossing around Rs.325 crore worldwide and becoming one of 2025’s biggest hits.

OTT Release Confirmed
Ending weeks of speculation, the makers confirmed that Netflix has bagged the streaming rights. The film will premiere on September 19, 2025, at 12:30 PM (IST), and will be available in all five languages. Earlier rumours suggested a different platform, but Netflix eventually sealed the deal.
First of 7-Part Franchise
Director Ashwin Kumar has planned a seven-film Mahavatar franchise. He chose to start with Narsimha as its narrative allowed for a feature-length treatment, unlike Matsya or Kurma avatars. The next film, Mahavatar Parshuram, is expected to hit theatres in 2027.
Animation Format to Continue
Ashwin confirmed that the entire Mahavatar series will remain animated, as the format provides greater creative freedom. With Mahavatar Narsimha’s massive success funding the franchise, audiences can expect a faster production timeline and world-class storytelling in the upcoming chapters.
