Renowned screenwriter and filmmaker, Akashaditya Lama, established his foothold in the vibrant realm of films and television, commencing his journey by contributing to advertising films and later transitioning into prominent feature films such as the iconic 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.' With a versatile portfolio, Lama has donned multiple hats, showcasing his prowess as a film director, screenplay writer, dialogue writer, theatre artist, and playwright.

His directorial debut, 'Cigarette Ki Tarah,' starring Prashant Narayanan, Madhurima Tuli, and Yuvika Chaudhary, marked the inception of his directorial venture. Pushing boundaries, he ventured into uncharted territories with 'Nani Teri Morni,' the first official Nagamese language film inspired by Mhonbeni Ezung, the youngest recipient of the National Children Bravery Award 2015. This poignant creation earned global recognition, being featured in numerous international film festivals, including Indian Panorama, IFFI 2018, Goa, and was prominently showcased by UNICEF in 2022.

The imminent release of 'Tauba Tera Jalwa,' featuring a stellar cast comprising Ameesha Patel, Rajesh Sharma, Jatin Khurana & Neeraj Sood, and Angela Krinzlisky, underscores Lama's commitment to delivering compelling commercial cinema. Currently immersed in the post-production of ' Milan Hoga Kan Jaane…,' a period film inspired by one of his critically acclaimed plays SHABRI KA MOHAN , Lama continues to redefine cinematic storytelling.

Lama's contributions extend beyond the silver screen. He has lent his exceptional skills to critically acclaimed theatrical productions and has made significant contributions to the television landscape with shows like 'Kkusum,' 'Kumkum,' Zaara 'Jhilmil Sitaron Ka Angan Hoga,' 'Akrosh,' 'Kabhi Aaye Na Judai,' 'Pyar Ke Do Naam Naam Ek Radha Ek Shyam,' Piya Ka Angan , Jo Kahunga Sach Kahunga,' and many Popular Tv shows for Indonesian Televiion as well.

Notably, his creative finesse also encompassed writing and producing the nationally acclaimed Hindi play, 'Mohenjodaro.' Lama's versatility shines as he has crafted compelling narratives for both Indian and Indonesian television.

Beyond his creative endeavors, Akashaditya Lama has served as a distinguished member and jury in various prestigious Government of India cultural and film bodies, including the Central Board of Film Certification, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Financial Grant Committee under the Ministry of Culture, and played a pivotal role in the National Film Awards for IFFI Goa in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
